Email Setup

Basic Setup

For sites that don't have any email being sent to third parties we use the domain “kontrolitmail.com” which should  be the default setup out the box.  This email domain has been setup with the correct SPF, DKIM, and DMARC to that email is reliably sent to our customers.  It also avoids us having to change their SPF record so cuts our work down.  The default SMTP server is SendGrid details in LastPass and again should be correct out the box.

Advanced Setup

For any client that sends emails to third parties i.e. those with Shops, Events or Membership we need to add their domain to sendgrid.  We can then use their domain to update to send email from the site.

Send Gird Configuration

See LastPass for login details.

  • Settings > Sender Authentication
  • “Authenticate Your Domain”
    • Select DNS host e.g. Cloudflare or what ever customer is using
    • Would you like to brand the links: No
    • Type in your domain and click next
    • Update the dns in Cloudflare or other third party
    • Confirm you have added the records and validate
  • You also need to update the SPF record to include “include:sendgrid.net”
  • Once all validated move to next step

KIT Configuration

No need to change the SMTP server it is the same account.
