eBay Returns Process
Case: Item Delivered and Buyer Returns
When a buyer initiates a return after delivery, follow these steps to manage the return in the system:
- Retrieve Return Request:
- A scheduled task will automatically retrieve the return request from eBay.
- Path:
admin > scheduled tasks > eBay: Process Notifications (Return Created)
- Within 1 hour of the buyer initiating the return, it will appear under:
- Path:
data > shop > order returns
(with a "Pending" status).
- Path:
- Approve Return Request:
- Approve the buyer’s return request to allow them to send the item back. No refund is issued at this stage; the buyer will simply receive a confirmation that their return is accepted.
- The system will update eBay to reflect the approved return, which may take about an hour.
- Path:
admin > scheduled tasks > eBay: Push Returns
- Process Return Upon Item Receipt:
- Once the item has been delivered back, go to:
- Path:
data > shop > order returns
(now under "Approved" status).
- Path:
- Complete the return to provide options for restocking and to initiate any necessary refunds, including original delivery and additional costs (e.g., return postage).
- Once the item has been delivered back, go to:
- Push Refund to eBay:
- A scheduled task will submit the refund information to eBay, which can take up to an hour depending on task frequency.
- Path:
admin > scheduled tasks > eBay: Push Returns
- View Refund Status:
- You can now view the order in the admin panel to confirm the refund has been processed.
This structured approach ensures that returns are processed accurately and communicated to eBay efficiently.
