How to Supersede Products

To mark a product as superseded and assign its replacement in the CMS, follow these steps:

1. Find the Product

  • Go to Content > Products > Inventory in the CMS.

2. Find the Product

  • Use filters or enter the name, MPN, or SKU in the search box to locate the product you want to supersede.

3. Edit the Product

  • Once you find the product, click Edit to open its details.

4. Set as Discontinued

  • In the Stock section, locate the "Is Discontinued" field. Set this option to "Yes".

5. Link to Superseding Product

  • After marking the product as discontinued, a link appears prompting you to select a replacement product.
  • Click this link, then search for and select the new product that supersedes it.

6. Save Changes

  • Click Save to finalise the update.

This process ensures your CMS inventory reflects product discontinuations and links to replacement items for seamless transitions.
